McMullen Maternity

July 9, 2017

Oh summer babies. I have 2 summer babies myself and I remember how HOT it was to be pregnant in the middle of summer. So when we were planning Lauren's maternity session, not only were we wanting the wonderful golden light of late evening, but here in Brush, Colorado it cools down. Thank goodness!

When Lauren arrived for her hair and makeup my air conditioner was running and cold bottled water and light snacks were available. Usually during hair and makeup is when I like to find out how ladies are feeling during their pregnancy, are they the type that loved it, or not so much.... Because I know that I hated pregnancy, which is why I offer hair and makeup for my maternity session, its just a little extra pampering before the session to help you FEEL how beautiful you really are.

Lauren and Tyler came from Akron, CO. Which is a short 35 minutes away. I am so glad they chose me to save this moment in time for them. They were so wonderful to work with.

Lauren was STUNNING! The new red gown looked so perfect on her, it shaped her belly perfectly and the color really popped amid the brown grass of the pasture...but wait till you see it amongst the greens!!

Isn't this gown amazing. Lauren is tall and we still had plenty of length so that her feet were covered (Which means you can wear comfy shoes underneath, because lets face it...comfy shoes are an important factor towards the last part of pregnancy). While the gown is stunning, my favorite part of my job is capturing the connection, because I cannot create a connection that isn't there. I simply guide and instruct on how you should pose...the connection can be seen on its own.

I simply suggest a kiss on the cheek, or place your hand on her belly...The look between these two is true, its real. I just loved this styled Maternity session. It turned out so beautifully, and Mr. Jaxson is already very much loved by both his parents who can't wait to meet him.
